Martin Clunes was born on 28th November 1961 in Wimbledon, South London, England, UK. Martin is the son of the actor Alec Clunes (a classical actor during the 1940s and 50s).
Martin was first married in 1990 to Lucy Aston whom he divorced in 1997. He got married again in 1997 to Philippa Braithwaite who he has a beautiful daughter named Emily born in 1999.
Martin now lives in Powerstock near Bridport in Dorset.
Martins television career started back on 20th September 1982 where he had a bit part in the "Play of the Month" - The White Guard. Since then Martin has starred, directed and written many more projects, you can read all about these inside.....
Martin and his wife own and run thier own production company, Buffalo Pictures which produces Doc Martin for ITV.
He is also a keen supporter of many animal charities including The Born Free Foundation and The London Guide Dogs Centre, he has helped to raise thousands of pounds to provide equipment for these charities, including a Land Rover for the Amboseli Elephant Research Project in Nairobi.
